WESTFIELD - Perfect Pooch Dog Training and Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue announce that they will be celebrating their AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day (RDOD) on Sept. 15. The goal of this initiative, supported by the American Kennel Club, is to educate first-time dog owners about the responsibilities of dog ownership and help current owners enhance their relationships with their pets.
This event to be held from noon until 5 p.m. on Sept. 15 will have activities, information and freebies for all who come. Dogs are encouraged to attend along with the rest of the family. There will be a Chinese auction benefiting the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue with generous gift baskets and items donated from the business and private community. There will be a Try It Out Agility Course, craft sessions and coloring contests for children, experts available all day for free advice, groomers there to offer simple services, free AKC information, and tons of prizes to be given throughout the day.
AKC RDOD runs throughout the month of September, with hundreds of organizations around the country holding free events filled with fun and engaging activities every dog and owner can enjoy. To learn more about this event, visit www.facebook.com/events/299705340126735.
