BUFFALO - U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Friday that Roger S. Luczkowiak, 32, of Dunkirk, who was convicted of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography, was sentenced to 70 years in prison and lifetime supervised release by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who handled the case, stated that Dunkirk Police and New York State police seized a computer from the defendant's residence on June 1, 2011. A forensic analysis of the computer found multiple images and videos of child pornography, including two videos that appeared to be produced by the defendant at his home with a 6-year-old victim. Some of the images included the victim and the defendant. The defendant also possessed nearly 600 images and more than 80 videos of child pornography.
"The production of child pornography is a truly despicable act that could have lifelong effects on children," said Hochul. "Fortunately, this predator will now likely spend the rest of his natural life behind bars as a result of his actions. Our office will continue to vigorously prosecute any individual who attempts to victimize any child."

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of Agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of James C. Spero, Special Agent-In-Charge; the Dunkirk Police Department, under the direction of Chief David C. Ortolano, the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, under the direction of Captain Frank A. Pace, and the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office, under the direction of David Foley. Additional assistance was provided by the Western New York Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, which conducted the forensic analysis of the defendant's computer.
