Thomas and Judy Diederich of Woodstock, Ga., celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 18. The couple was united in marriage by Fr. James Walker on Aug. 18, 1962, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Fredonia.
Judy is the daughter of Peter Chudzik of Fredonia and the late Edith Chudzik. Thomas is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Max (Mary) Diederich of Dunkirk.
Wedding attendants included James Diederich, brother of the groom, and Sandra Welka, cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Diederich is a 1959 Fredonia High School alumna. Mr. Diederich is a 1959 Dunkirk High School alumnus, and a graduate of SUNY Brockport, where he earned his bachelor of science degree, and Michigan State University, where he earned his M.A.
The couple left Dunkirk in the 1960s. They lived in Hollywood, Fla., and then the Atlanta, Ga., area for 38 years. Mr. Diederich is retired from Rollins, Inc., where he was a vice president of government relations and environmental stewardship. Mrs. Diederich was a housewife. They now enjoy traveling, playing tennis and golf, and taking an annual trip back to Dunkirk to visit friends and family.
The couple has two daughters, Virginia Richards of Woodstock, Ga., and Jacquie Diederich of Acworth, Ga. They have two grandchildren, Moira Richards, a first-year student at the University of Georgia, Athens, and Caitlin Richards, a fourth-year student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
To celebrate their anniversary, the couple visited New York City.
