On Sunday evening, the West Town of Dunkirk Fire Department answered a call at 5040 Route 5 near Shorewood Country Club. According to Fire Chief Steve Davis, who was at the scene, the resident had done some open barrel burning and the sparks caught other debris. The fire was extinguished without incident.
