MAYVILLE The shores of beautiful Chautauqua Lake will be the backdrop for the Thursday Entertainment in the Park summer concert. The featured performers will be Bill Ward and Amanda Barton. This performance will replace the previously scheduled Deuble & Vogan performance. The concert will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and be held at Lakeside Park, Mayville (about a mile south of the uptown Routes 394 and 430 intersection along Route 394).
Bill Ward is a longtime local favorite performer at this summertime concert series. A graduate of the former Chautauqua High School, he has been a musician and entertainer for many years. He has performed and recorded with The Bill Ward Band as well as being a solo performer. Joining Bill on the concert stage will be Amanda Barton. Amanda has performed on stage with David Grisman, Peter Rowan, The Blue Grasshoppers, the Steve Johnson Band, and Big Leg Emma. Bill and Amanda were one of the featured performers at our 2010 summer concert series.
Rainbow the Clown (Jerry Stimson) will also be on hand to entertain the children with face painting and balloon sculptures. The Entertainment in the Park concerts are provided free to the public through the generous sponsorship and support by the Town of Chautauqua and Village of Mayville. In case of rain, the performance will take place at the new Carlson Community Center also located at Lakeside Park, Mayville.
Remember to bring your own seating for the outside performance. A 50/50 drawing will also be held at this concert, with the winner announced just before the end of the performance.
