Community, labor to rally today in support of public nursing home
Community members and representatives of labor will be out in full force this week in support of keeping the Chautauqua County Nursing Home public. A rally will be held at 5:30 p.m. today outside the County Office Building in Mayville.
"Public nursing homes are a vital safety net in the community," said CSEA Western Region President Flo Tripi. "Chautauqua County cannot afford to lose this important gem. The nursing home needs to remain public so all county residents can receive long-term care regardless of their ability to pay or the complexity of their medical care."

Salad Bar Luncheon set for Friday at annual Fredonia Farm Festival
Following your first walk through of the many wonderful craft and information booths available at the Fredonia Farm Festival treat your feet and your palate to a refreshing lunch.
On Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can sit down and relax in the air conditioned Garland Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church on 11 Day St. Fredonia, as the Trinity Episcopal Church Women will host a salad bar luncheon at which there will be more than 20 salads from which to make your selection. Sit at one of the new round tables or a more intimate small square table both of which will have a linen cloth, a vase of fresh flowers and where the silverware has been set just for you and your friends. These won't be your ordinary mixed greens salads with a few vegetables chopped into them (although there will be some of that available). You will have to choose from a wide variety. A roll/butter along with your choice of lemonade, ice tea (or hot coffee/tea) will be included in the charge of $7 a plate.
There will be some desserts available for a little extra cost and if it's your lunch hour you can request a take out container so that you may take your selection with you.
