Michele Szalkowski, of 90 Middle Road, has been named the Rising Star winner for July. Program sponsor and Home Depot Manager Tammi Papke presented a $100 gift card to Michele for all her home improvement efforts.
Michele transformed her home with a complete exterior renovation which began earlier this spring. Her extensive improvements included tan vinyl siding and new roofs on both her house and garage.
The front porch and foundation were also painted a dark brown to compliment the new siding. New gutters, windows and exterior doors were also installed as well as landscaping around the perimeter of the home and side entrance.

Michele Szalkowski of 90 Middle Road, has been named the Rising Star winner for July.
The Rising Star program was created to promote and recognize city of Dunkirk property owners who make significant exterior improvements to existing residential homes, which in turn helps to elevate the image of city neighborhoods.
Each month through October, a $100 gift certificate will be presented to the winning property owner. Program guidelines and nomination forms are available from the City Clerk's office and the following Rising Star sponsors: Add Lumber, Bargain Outlet, Service Hardware and the Home Depot. All exterior home improvements will be considered and residents are encouraged to apply.
