Bow Hunters Education Class

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office will host a Bow Hunters' Education Class on Monday and Aug. 30 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hideaway Archery, 12749 Cottage Road, Dayton.

There is no charge for the class. Participants must attend both days of instruction to receive a certificate. It is preferable participants be at least 12 years of age. If a parent wants an 11 year old to take the class, the parent must attend and sit with the child on both days.

Class size is limited to 30 students. Those attending must bring a form of identification: driver's license, birth certificate, etc. They must also bring a pen or pencil. They may also bring snacks or something to drink.

Pre-registration is required. Reservations for the class may be made by calling the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office dispatch at 938-9191.

Steve Waterson to appear on Senior Report

Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Steve Waterson as the guest on Saturday's television program. Waterson is the director of community relations with the Resource Center.

The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change.

Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Cornell Cooperative Directors meet Monday

The next meeting of Cornell Cooperative Exten-sion Chautauqua County's Board of Directors is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Frank W. Bratt Agricul-tural Center, 3542 Turner Road in Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

CCIDA board meets Monday

A meeting of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) Board of Direc-tors will be held at CCIDA, 200 Harrison St., James-town Monday at 9 a.m.

Gowanda chicken barbecue Sunday

The Gowanda American Legion Post 409 will host a chicken barbecue on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until sold out. The chicken will be prepared on site by the Perrysburg Conserva-tion Club members. Meals will be available for eat in or by take out drive-thru. Each dinner will be $8. The legion is located at 100 Legion Drive, Gowanda.

All proceeds will benefit Post 409.
