A spaghetti dinner benefit and Chinese auction for Judy (Hallmark) Dasher of Brocton will be held on Sept. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 219 Berry Road, Fredonia.
This benefit will help Dasher pay medical expenses due to her recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Dasher is a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to six children, 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Dasher has already acquired many bills and there are many more to come between the chemo and radiation treatments as well as procedures she has had leading up to her diagnosis. There are also medication costs which continue to climb and finally there will be an eight-hour surgery to remove the tumor. The cost is going to be overwhelming and her family and friends are trying to help as much as they can.
Family and friends are asking businesses in the community to consider helping out with a donation to the benefit. Donations needed are spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, dinner rolls, prepackaged butter and parmesan cheese, paper products (plates, forks, napkins, to-go containers), items for Chinese auction (products or services) and drinks (bottled water, soda, tea, coffee, etc.). All donations are tax deductible.
The cost will be $7 a plate. Advance tickets can be purchased at Cattoo's in Dunkirk or you can purchase tickets or make a donation by calling Kayle Dover at 467-3086 or Shelly Williamson at 401-1406.
