Leon plans hometown picnic
LEON - Leon's "Old-Fashioned Hometown Picnic" will be held Saturday at the historical church, located at Route 62 and Cherry Creek Hill. The event begins at 2 p.m. with dinner served at 4:30.
All attending are asked to bring a dish to pass, as well as lawn chairs and old photos to share. Hamburgers, hot dogs, lemonade, coffee, iced tea and table service will be provided.
Activities include a Chinese auction, sawdust pile, three-legged races, horseshoes, water balloons, tug-of-war and much more. There will also be a special show with Cal Baker and "Easter Lilly" the miniature horse.
FHS Class of 1962 to hold reunion Friday and Saturday
The Fredonia High School Class of 1962 will be celebrating their 50th reunion this weekend. They will have a get-together at Rookies on the Lake on Friday evening and a banquet at The Clarion on Saturday evening. Any friends of the classmates are welcome to stop by either evening, after 8:30 p.m., to visit and listen to 1950s and '60s music. Just look for the Class of '62 banner.
