Perrysburg says goodbye to former clerk, swears in new clerk

PERRYSBURG - The town honored its outgoing town clerk while swearing in the new town clerk. Peg Watkins retired as clerk at the end of July. The board honored her at its August meeting.

"In the honor of many years of service, thank you," Town Supervisor Dennis Stopen said.

Watkins was presented with a flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol presented to her by Councilman Richard Gabel.

"This is a thank you from us," he said as he presented her the flag. "We're going to miss you."

The town also swore in new clerk Tamara Utley. Utley was appointed to town clerk when Watkins announced her resignation. Utley will be town clerk until the end of the year. In November, a town clerk will be elected who will be sworn into office in 2013.
