Lettie M. Mierzwa

Lettie M. Mierzwa, 83, of Sheridan died Sunday evening, August 26, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 28, 1929, in Villenova, daughter of the late George and Amelia (Makowski) Mierzwa.

A retired employee of St. Hedwig's R. C. Church in Dunkirk, Lettie was a past employee of the former Niagara Therapy in Brocton and the former Kessler Arms in Silver Creek.

Her memberships included Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig, the parish Rosary Society and the parish Ladies Society. She also worked at the Parish Bingo on Sunday, Kosciuszko Polish Home and was one of the longest standing blood donors with Red Cross at St. Hedwig's Parish Center.

Surviving are sisters Genevieve Kahm of Bemus Point, Cecilia Adkins of Lakeview, along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceded by parents, brothers Thomas, Stanley, Anthony and infant John Mierzwa; nephews Edward Mierzwa and Mark Kahm.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.

The Blessed Mary Angela Parish Rosary Society and Ladies Society will recite the Rosary Wednesday evening at 6:30.
