Baldwin family reunites
Twenty family members of the late Claude Baldwin recently attended the fifth annual reunion at the residence on Lamberton Road in Fredonia. The theme of the day was Hawaiian luau. Guests were given leis to wear to complement the Hawaiian dress code.
The Tracy Baldwin Whitaker family provided a large wading pool. Sand was brought by James Baldwin. Sand buckets were given to the children by Great-Grandma Baldwin as well as rubber ducks for the wading pool.
The adults gathered on the deck of the house, socializing and making plans for next year's event. The decision was made that the theme for next year would be "Hillbilly" which includes dressing as hillbillies.
The date will be the first Sunday nearest to the anniversary of the marriage of the grandparents Baldwin on July 14. Pictures were made available from other reunions and past family events.
The dinner included a pot-luck with the meat being steaks, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs. Gene Whitaker, Tracy's husband, and Rob Conley, son-in-law, attended the barbecue.
The biggest attraction for the children was a go-cart which James brought. They were able to drive it around the lawn and between trees. He has brought the go-cart for the last three years decorating it as per the theme of each year.
Larry Baldwin and his guest came from Tennessee with the others attending from local areas.
Flowers were placed on the memorial for Grandpa Baldwin that is located on the property.
