Tradition kicks off tonight

August 31, 2012
The OBSERVER

A special time of year - one that Western New York has relished for more than 100 years - kicks off tonight.

It is football season.

Hundreds of high school athletes will be taking to area fields and stadiums as part of a longtime tradition. Cheerleaders, parents and community members will be in attendance cheering them on.

And while victories are important, lessons in teamwork from coaches and teachers will last forever.

It's still summer in Chautauqua County. Get out and enjoy it. Support your local team - and players - this weekend.
