The Friends of the Dunkirk Free Library will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the library. This is a change from the regular meeting held every first Monday of the month due to the Labor Day holiday.
At the September meeting, elections will be held to fill the president, treasurer and corresponding secretary positions. All current members are strongly urged to attend.
Fund-raisers throughout the year, sponsored by the group, supplement programs in the children's room, the computer center and the adult library.
The group is comprised of community members who support the Dunkirk Free Library. Membership is ongoing and new members are always welcomed. More information about becoming a member can be obtained by calling 366-8766 or stopping at the Dunkirk Free library on Central Avenue in Dunkirk.
The group is also looking for any local garden group to adopt the Dunkirk Free Library for spring 2013 to work on landscaping around the historic building.
