SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Black Knights could not stop Oliver Simpson and the Maple Grove running attack Saturday in Class D high school football action.
Oliver rushed for 213 yards and two scores in leading the Red Dragons to a 23-14 victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, Maple Grove's Aaron Germaine rushed for a 4-yard score for a 7-0 lead. Silver Creek responded with a 30-yard touchdown strike from Nick Iskra to Zach Klisiewicz. Zeddie Williams rushed for the two-point conversion and an 8-7 lead heading into halftime.
Maple Grove scored 10 points in the third quarter highlighted by a 9-yard TD run from Simpson.
Anthony Morales brought Silver Creek within three points in the fourth quarter with a 7-yard touchdown catch from Williams.
Simpson scored again in the fourth quarter on an 8-yard run to conclude the scoring.
Williams was Silver Creek's leading rusher as he had 94 yards on 13 carries. Iskra led Silver Creek's aerial attack as he was 11 of 18 for 134 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
