Herbert W. Keppel

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ: Herbert W. Keppel, Sr, 77, of Bumblebee Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ, formerly of South Dayton, died, Tuesday, August 28th, at his residence. He was born in the Town of Perrysburg, on January 13, 1935, the son of the late Herbert L and Blanche (Cole) Keppel.

He attended Gowanda High School and owned and operated the former Keppel's Auto Service, Perrysburg, from 1973-1978. Mr. Keppel was a long term auto service repair mechan-ic, worked in residential and commercial building and construction and he also helped start Tri-County Landscaping in 1988 in the Arizona area. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making and remodeling.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert William (Cindy) Keppel, Jr., Dennis Michael (Anna) Keppel, both of Prescott Valley, AZ, two daughters, Katherine (Kenneth) Charles, of Atworth, GA, Laurie Whitley, of Humbolt, AZ and a brother-in-law Pete Johnson of Gowanda. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife May L. (Moss) Keppel, whom he married April 4, 1953 in the Forestville United Methodist Church and who died Sept. 22, 2009 and by five sisters Dorothy Radatti, Betty Cintron, Joan Keppel, Mary Lou Mooney and Bonnie Johnson.

Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning, at 11 o'clock, with Fred Holdridge, officiating. Interment will follow in Cottage Cemetery, South Dayton.
