JAMESTOWN Cody DeLong of Jamestown has begun serving his term as the student representative to the Jamestown Community College board of trustees.
DeLong was elected to the post at the end of the spring semester.
DeLong, the son of Joette Casel and a 2011 Jamestown High School graduate, is majoring in media arts with a focus on writing and directing both short and feature length films.

His short film, "Tomorrow Before Midnight," won first place in the recent Insomniac Film Festival sponsored by the Arts Council for Chautauqua County.
DeLong is a member of JCC's sustainability committee, student ambassador program, and Phi Theta Kappa and is a USA Scholarship recipient.
