Friday Evening Couples League - The format was a four-player scramble. The first-place team with a score of 31 was Jim/Sandy Korzeniewski and Larry/Rosemary Tibbetts. There was a tie for second place with the teams of Pat/Bobbi Deering and Dave/Colleen Paradis; John/Paula Lakas and Chris/Priscilla Penfold with a score of 32. Third place with 34 went to Chuck/Carole Hudson and Bob/Jan Manning; Pete Borzilleri, Fritz Worosz/Sue Slate. There was also a tie with Jack/Carol Hood, George Seiler; Paul/Theresa Leone, Jim/Pam Waite. Closest to the pin, second shot on No. 3 was the team of Worosz/Slate, and Borzilleri. Closest to the pin on No. 5 was the team of Lakas/Penfold. Closest to the pin, second shot on No. 8 was the team of Korzeniewski/Tibbetts.

The Fantastic Four recently captured the 11/12 year old championships in the Olean Gus Macker Basketball Tournament. The team went undefeated in a 16-team bracket. On Saturday, the girls defeated Team Jack, 10-6, and the Game Breakers, 6-5. On Sunday’s first game, they defeated 3rd Degree Burn 10-6. The Four’s second game was against the undefeated Olean Wildcats. The Four overcame a 12-9 deficeit in the last 1:30 to tie the score and send the game into sudden death, where they prevailed 14-13 and advanced to the championships. The Wildcats advanced through the loser bracket to the championship game and were beaten by the Four 12-6. Members of the Fantastic Four, going by the name of Artic Blast, also took the 1st place championship in the Jamestown Street Jam held in June with the addition of player Katie Price. All of the girls attend Northern Chautauqua Catholic School where they are members of the N.C.C.S. Monarchs Basketball Team.

Southern Tier Bills Booster Club

The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will watch the Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets game, on Sunday, Sept. 9, at the American Legion Post No. 62 pavilion.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. A dish to pass is optional. New members are always welcome.

Potter-Lisi League Meeting

There will be a league meeting for the Potter-Lisi League at 7 p.m., at Lucky Lanes, on Tuesday.

All league members and all new bowlers interested must attend. The format is a four-person (men, women or mixed) handicap (100 percent of 220) league that bowls every Tuesday night.

Scratch and handicap jackpots are givin out weekly. For more information, call Lucky Lanes at 673-1375 or league secretary Ben Montague at 785-0363.

Hammerhead Swim Club Registration

The Hammerhead Swim Club is a sanctioned member of the Niagara District of USA Swimming. The 2012-2013 season will begin Sept. 17 at 6:15 p.m. at the Fredonia State University pool in Steele Hall. The club is designed to instruct youth age 6-18 in the four basic stroke techniques and condition them for competitive swimming.

Black Watch Soccer Fall Session

The Black Watch Soccer season will be played on Sundays from Sept. 9 through Oct. 21 at Dunkirk High School. Co-ed players ages 6-9 will be from 9-10:15 a.m. and co-ed players ages 10-12 will be from 10:15-11:45 a.m. Older players may attend with permission.

The cost is $95 for the seven sessions. Each player will receive a practice jersey, shorts and socks.

Seneca Party to Host Golf Tournament

The Seneca Party will hold a golf tournament on Monday, Sept. 17, at the Double Black Diamond Golf Course, located at Holiday Valley.

A lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start to follow at 1 p.m. A dinner and an awards ceremony will be held at 5:30.
