Ten Lives Club announces Senior Citizen Cat Project
Ten Lives Club cat adoption group announces an enhancement to their Senior Citizen Cat Program. The program matches seniors (65 or older) with an older (4 years old or more) cat. TLC waives standard adoption fee and will accept a donation instead. This program provides: 1) a healthy vet-checked cat, 2) if needed, first month supply of free food, litter and litter pan and, 3) if needed, help with landlord deposit for pet. Dunkirk Town Board workshop, special meeting today
The Dunkirk Town Board will meet today at 7 p.m. in the town hall for a workshop to discuss renovations to the town hall. A special meeting will immediately follow the workshop.
Dunkirk Fire Department August report
The Dunkirk Fire Department reports going on 177 runs in August. Of that number, 134 were EMS calls with 65 of those resulting in transports to Brooks Memorial Hospital. As of Aug. 31., the department had transported 431 patients to the hospital. There were 33 still alarms, nine box alarms and one mutual aid call answered by the department, according to figures from Fire Chief Keith Ahlstrom. Through the first eight months of 2012, the department has gone on 1,304 runs.
