The Evans Garden Club was well represented at the recent Erie County Fair.
Diane Woodman received a first place for her miniature design and a special award for Best Theme Interpretation. Judy Woodman received a first place for her table design and a special award for Best Table Artistry.
Mary Truby received a second place for her miniature award. David Truby received a second place award for his exhibition table and a special award for Best of Second Place Winners.
In the Horticulture division, the club received a second place for its window box of purple flowers, a fourth place for an orange flowering window box, a third place for a window box of Rex Begonias and a fourth place for a display of Heuchera, or Coral Bells.
The next event will be Saturday, when the club will take a guided tour of the gardens of Forest Lawn Cemetery. For information on this event, call 947-4571.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, Linda McFarland will talk on creating memorial gardens. The meeting will take place at the Angola Public Library at 7 p.m. Hostesses for the evening will be Evelyn Bruce and Kathy Ehmke. Mary Truby will provide the library arrangement. All interested gardeners are welcome to join in.
