North Collins wins in double overtime

NORTH COLLINS - Jared Keppel finally found the back of the net in double overtime to lead North Collins to a 1-0 win over West Valley in CCAA Division 3 boys' soccer.

Keppel's tally was assisted by Garrett Martin and upped the Eagles' record to 2-0 on the young season.

Sophomore Kyle Loretto made two saves in net for the win, North Collins' second consecutive shutout to begin the year.

Dylan Westphall made 14 saves for West Valley.

North Collins returns to action Tuesday against Chautauqua Lake.

Non-League Soccer

Southwestern 7, Cassadaga Valley 1

SINCLAIRVILLE - The Cassadaga Valley Cougars bowed down to the Southwestern Trojans, 7-1, Thursday in non-league boys' high school soccer action.

The Cougars' lone goal came from Kyle Ruge.

Tim Bender was the losing goalie, despite making 35 saves.
