ANGOLA - Lake Shore (2-1) won a battle of two highly ranked teams when it knocked off Frontier, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19, Thursday in non-league boys volleyball.
Entering the match, Lake Shore was ranked No. 3 and Frontier (1-2) was ranked No. 4 in Western New York.
Ryan Joslyn did most of the damage for the Eagles with nine kills, four blocks and eight digs. Tyler Freeman added seven kills and nine digs while Billy Pinter dished out 28 assists to go with an ace.
Lake Shore will be back in action Saturday at the Eden Tournament. The 16-team tournament will feature teams from Syracuse, Rochester and even Puerto Rico.
