‘Fair’ justice in Perrysburg

September 8, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

Connie Johnson has always done a noteworthy job as Town Justice for the Town of Perrysburg. With her nine years of experience, I can't think why anyone would vote for any other.

Connie is well read and keeps informed on current issues related to court matters. She is organized and conscientious, and she and another judge were instrumental in acquiring and putting into practice the electronic updating and increased security of the Perrysburg court, that all courts have been required to phase in.

Connie has spent the last five years working with offenders, and much of that time she was the lead person in one of the biggest criminal treatment units of its kind, at Gowanda Correctional Facility. That seems to prove her ability to handle the court cases and work successfully with those who come before the bench.

We know that she and the co-judge were instrumental in the town receiving the largest grant ever acquired for Perrysburg, for improvements that were needed in the courtroom. She shows her fair-mindedness when she gives credit to her co-judge, and to the staff who work with her in the courtroom. She knows that it takes a team to make the courtroom run well.

Connie has shown herself to be family and community oriented, volunteering in many areas to fill a need when one is presented.

Since she is enthusiastically seeking to serve our town as justice, it is my desire to vote for her and to encourage others to do so, too. Since the Tuesday primary is limited to Independence, Republican and Conservative Party members, Democrats will have the opportunity to select a judge candidate at their caucus on Thursday. Those who are non-affiliated with a party must wait until the general election in November.

I hope all will use their right to vote, to support Connie Johnson.

ED and SUE CHRISTOPHER,

Perrysburg
