Brocton drops Sherman in JAMFL Action

The Brocton Bulldogs are 3-0 after their 20-14 road win over the Sherman Wild Eagles.

This week, Jordan Krystofiak led the Bulldog defense with eight tackles, followed by Dylin Williams and Riley Rivera with six and Issac Weaver with three. Nick Putcher recovered two fumbles and forced a third.

Ronald Brown had a 45-yard touchdown run and capped the day off with a kickoff return for his second touchdown. The kick off return came with six seconds left in the first half.

Williams fought hard, pushing through the Eagles defense for a tough 53 yard touchdown run and Rivera finished the scoring with a touchdown run of his own.

Brocton American Legion Post 434 Wednesday Evening Men's League - Low gross; Andy Deakin 37, Jon Esperson 37, Adam Morello 39, Lenny Truby 39, Jay Beers 39, Justin Willebrandt 40, Scott Jagoda 40.

Low net: Deakin 29, Esperson 32, Willebrandt 32, John Feiner 33, Ben Miller 33, Beers 33, Roger Miller 33, Nick Speziale 33.

Closest to the pin: Kris Kane (No. 13), Mike Sheehan (No. 16), Jared Ehmke (No 17 with the second shot). One skin was won by Kane on No. 13.

Most team points taken were: Deakin and Dan Thompson 14, Truby and Jay Beers 13, and Jack Kujawa and Junior Martinez 12.5.

This Wednesday the league champions will be announced at a banquet to be held at Pinehurst Golf Course. Festivities will start with a scramble golf match at 5 p.m.

Friday Evening Couples League - The format was a four-player scramble.

Tied for first place with a score of 32 were the teams of George Allessi, Pam Allessi, Pete Borzilleri and Colleen Borzilleri, and Chris Penfold, Priscilla Penfold, Jim Waite and Pam Waite.

In second place with a 34 was the team of Jim Ellman, Jane Ellman, Larry Tibbetts and Rosemary Tibbetts. Tied for third place with a score of 36 were the teams of Jack Hood, Carol Hood, Fritz Worosz and Sue Slate and Paul Leone, Theresa Leone, Dave Paradis and Colleen Paradis.

Next were the teams of Chuck Hudson, Carole Hudson, Jim Korzeniewski and Sandy Korzeniewski, and Dennis Gawronski, Cheryl Gawronski, Paula Lakas and George Seiler.

Closest to the pin, on the second shot on No. 1 was the team of Allessi and Borzilleri. Closest to the pin on No. 5 was the team of Ellman and Tibbetts. Closest to the pin, second shot on No. 7 was the team of Penfold and Waite.

There is still time for anyone interested in joining the Lucky Lanes Junior Bowlers program.

The season starts Sept. 15, and there are openings in all leagues and age levels, including the Bumper Buddies program.
