Fredonia Police
Matthew J. Sciaraffo, 20, of Forbes Place was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol and having an open container on Aug. 31. At 11:55 p.m. police observed Sciaraffo walking south on Temple Street with an open container. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Andre R. Cobham, 22, of Birchwood Drive was charged with violating the noise ordinance on Aug. 31. At 11:58 p.m. police were dispatched to Carol Avenue for a noise complaint coming from Birchwood Drive. Cobham was released on an appearance ticket.
Nathaniel P. Martin, 22, of Slingerlands was charged with violating the sewer ordinance Sept. 1. At 1:15 a.m. police saw Martin urinating in an alley in downtown Fredonia. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Brady M. Aults, 22, of Brocton was charged with a warrant on Sept. 1. At 2:05 a.m. police arrested Aults on a disorderly conduct bench warrant from the Town of Hanover. He was turned over to Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel R. Ekstrom, 22, of Carol Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct on Sept. 1. At 2:09 a.m. police saw Ekstrom breaking branches off trees and throwing them into Church Street. These trees are village owned. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Brandon E. Logan, 29, of Dunkirk was charged with a warrant on Sept. 1. Police observed Logan walking across a parking lot on Route 60 and was taken into custody without incident. He was turned over to Dunkirk Police for the warrant.
Sean Jackson, 17, and Cory Clancy, 17, both of Chautauqua Hall, SUNY Fredonia were charged following an open container incident on Sept. 2. At 12:15 a.m. Jackson was seen carrying a cup full of alcohol and then throwing the cup down. Clancy was also observed with an open container. Both males were charged with having an open container and unlawful possession of alcohol under 21. Jackson was additionally charged with littering. Both males were released on an appearance ticket.
Samantha Pinkowski, 18, of Kasling Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with violating the sewer ordinance on Sept. 2. She was observed urinating on a sidewalk on East Main Street at 1:27 a.m. Pinkowski was released on an appearance ticket.
Eric Bruton, 19, of Disney Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with violating the sewer ordinance Sept. 2. At 12:17 a.m. Bruton was seen urinating on a lawn. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Gregory J. Bala, 18, of Chautauqua Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under 21, having an open container and littering on Aug. 31. At 11:16 p.m. police observed Bala on Temple Street throw down a beer can. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Alexander McGowan, 18, of Grissom Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with having an open container, littering and unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 on Sept. 1. At 11:25 p.m. police observed McGowan holding a beer which he threw down as he was approached by police. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Mitchell Gefaller, 18, of Orchard Park was charged with having an open container and unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 on Sept. 2. At 1:29 a.m. police observed Gefaller walking through the west municipal parking lot holding an open container. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Ryan Bohn, 19, of Gregory Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with having an open container and unlawful possession of alcohol on Sept. 1. At 11:52 p.m. police observed Bohn on the sidewalk of Temple Street and Central Avenue carrying an open container. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Coulter McPhoil, 20, of Central Avenue was charged with violating the sewer ordinance on Sept. 2. At 1:24 a.m. police observed McPhoil on Eagle Street urinating in an alley. McPhoil was released on an appearance ticket.
Carson Bush, 22, of Portville was charged with an open container Sept. 2. At 1:30 a.m. police saw Bush with an open container in the west municipal parking lot. Bush was re-leased on an appearance ticket.
Sean P. Korzenski, 19, of Dunkirk was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree obstruction on Sept. 2. At 11:14 p.m. police were called to the area of 277 West Main St. for the complaint of a loud party. When police arrived, a group of people were outside and police observed Korzenski place a bag containing marijuana in his pocket. He then refused to comply with police commands to stand up. He was released on $500 bail.
Mitchell Larkin, 18, of Depew was charged with having an open container, littering and unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 on Sept. 3. At 12:39 a.m. police observed Larkin with an open container. Larkin was released on $100 bail.
James P. Tilly III, 36, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding on Sept. 4. Police observed Tilly speeding on Water Street at 11:41 a.m. doing 55 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was released on $250 bail.
Sally Lemanski, 49, of Gillis Street was charged with having a suspended registration and no insurance on Sept. 4. Police were on patrol on Route 20 when the LPR went off for a suspended registration near Cushing Street. She was released on her own recognizance and her vehicle was towed.
Nicholas A. Johns, 22, of Irving was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more, failure to use headlights with wipers and failure to keep right on Sept. 6. At 2:42 a.m. police observed Johns' vehicle turn on to West Main Street from Water Street with no headlights. Johns' vehicle then crossed the yellow line. He had slurred speech, watery, blood shot eyes and smelled of intoxicants. Johns failed several sobriety tests. He was released on $250 bail.
Christina Giannitsis, 20, of Nixon Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with having a suspended registration on Sept. 6. At 4:20 p.m. police were on patrol on Central Avenue when the LPR hit on a suspended registration due to an insurance lapse. She was released on her own recognizance.
Raymond Z. Howell, 20, of Terrace Place was charged with violating the noise ordinance Sept. 6. At 11:18 p.m. police were called to a residence on Terrace Place for a complaint of a loud party. Upon arrival, police found Mohamed M. Sadek, 19, of Eisenhower Hall, Frederick J. Yates, 19, of Hendrix Hall, and Kyle T. Bennett, 20, of Disney Hall, all consuming alcohol. They were charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 and re-leased on appearance tickets.
Christopher J. Gatto, 26, of Carol Avenue and Matthew M. Anderson, 22, of Ithaca were both charged with violating the sewer ordinance on Sept. 7. Both were seen urinating on the boardwalk in the west municipal parking lot. Anderson was released on $50 bail and Gatto was released on an appearance ticket.
Tammy L. Cambria, 43, of Union Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with BAC of .18 or higher and failure to use designated lane on Sept. 7. At 11:16 p.m. police observed Cambria driving south on Eagle Street hit the curb multiple times. She was observed with bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of intoxicants when pulled over. She failed several sobriety tests. Her BAC was found to be a .19. She was released on her own recognizance.
Olivia Cabana, 19, of Igoe Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 and having an open container Sept. 8. At 12:15 a.m. police saw Cabana walking on Forest Place with an open container. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Cassandra Hardick, 19, of Temple Street was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under 21 and having an open container Sept. 8. At 12:07 a.m. police observed Hardick walking south on Temple Street with an open container. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
RIPLEY - Matthew J. Houle, 21, of Ripley was charged with having no registration, having switched plates, altering the registration sticker, having an uninspected motor vehicle and using a forged or fictitious inspection sticker, unlicensed operating and using studded tires between May 1 and Oct. 15 on Sept. 7. At 7:51 p.m. Houle was stopped on Goodrich Street for having an expired registration. It was discovered that the vehicle's plates belonged to a different vehicle. Houle was released on an appearance ticket for Ripley Court.
New York State Police at Collins
BRANT - Charles Jimerson, of Cayuga Road was charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana on Aug. 28. Troopers stopped Jimerson on Route 438 after following him for a lengthy distance driving approximately 20 mph under the speed limit. Jimerson failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a BAC of .10. He was also found to be in possession of three grams of marijuana. He was released on an appearance ticket for Brant Town Court.
BRANT - Edmund Williams, 20, of Palmyra was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana on Aug. 31. Williams was stopped on Route 438 for speeding and his driver's license was subsequently found to be suspended. Troopers found a small amount of marijuana inside prior to the vehicle being towed. Williams is due back in Brant Town Court.
SOUTH DAYTON - Sherrie Carter, 32, of Mill Street was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Sept. 4. Carter allegedly threw a rock through her neighbor's window on Aug. 25. Her neighbor had a similar incident that happened earlier in the week and was watching from a bedroom window. The neighbor observed Carter changing into black clothing, leaving her home and throwing the rock through the window. She was released on an appearance ticket.
BRANT - Justin Stanfield, 25, of Portland was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana on Sept. 5. Stanfield was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 20 and troopers immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He was found to be in possession of 1 1/2 ounces of marijuana. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Brant.
State Police charge man with DWI
BEMUS POINT - On Wednesday, Richard Burge, 42, of Bemus Point was charged with driving while intoxicated. Troopers responded to a disturbance in the High Acres Trailer Park during which time Burge was reportedly seen driving around while in an intoxicated condition.
Burge was transported to state police barracks in Jamestown where he provided a breath sample that was reported to be .13 percent. He was processed, issued tickets returnable to Ellery Court and released to a sober individual.
