Sherman 36, Brocton 6

The Sherman-Ripley Wild Eagles improved their record to 2-1 by beating the Brocton Bulldogs.

For the Wild Eagles, Cory Ayers had 101 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Mike Lisek had one rushing touchdown and Bryce Rowe had two rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Devin Pope and Tyler Meredith each had eight tackles.

For the Brocton Bulldogs, Tyrese Kristan-Johnson had a receiving touchdown and 73 yards rushing. Garrett McFadden had a 108 yards rushing and threw one touchdown. On the defensive side, Steven Krystofiak had nine tackles in a losing effort.

Campus blood drive sponsored by men's basketball

Members of the Fredonia State men's basketball team are co-sponsors of a blood drive on campus which began Tuesday and runs through Wednesday this week.

The team, under the direction of head coach Kevin Moore and assistant coach Kevin Saunders, joined forces with the Community Blood Bank again this fall as they have done in past year.

The drive is being held in the multipurpose room of the newly renovated Williams Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Students, faculty and staff are all encouraged to donate and help save a life. All blood donated stays in the community and will benefit Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk. The first 100 donors will receive a free hat or sneaker bag courtesy of Adidas.

To be eligible to donate, individuals need to be in good health, provide picture identification, and can not have had a piercing or tattoo in the last six months.

Hammerhead Swim Club

The Hammerhead Swim Club is a sanctioned member of the Niagara District of USA Swimming.

The 2012-2013 season will begin Sept. 17 at 6:15 p.m., at the Fredonia State University pool in Steele Hall.

The club is designed to instruct youth age 6-18 in the four basic stroke techniques and condition them for competitive swimming.

Hole In One

Tri-County Country club

Don Fadale Jr. of Dunkirk recorded his first career Hole-In-One at Tri-County Country Club on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat on the 170-yard No. 3 hole using a 9-iron. The shot was witnessed by Tom Bautista.
