Dunkirk (0-3) was unable to pick up its first win of the season Tuesday afternoon at Karl Hoeppner Field, as the Marauders fell to the visiting Salamanca Warriors, 3-1, in non-league boys' soccer action.
"We're an inexperienced team and at times, we get a little tentative," Dunkirk head coach Brian Crawford said. "We've improved over the last three games, but at times we shoot ourselves in the foot and panic a little bit."
The Marauders and Warriors played a scoreless first half, before Michael Morris beat Dunkirk keeper Nick Kobel in the 14th minute of the second half.

Alex Crossan tied the game 1-all in the 19th minute on an assist from Nelmy Robles. The tie did not last long however, as Morris scored on a penalty kick five minutes later to put the Warriors back on top.
"We're a young team," Crawford noted. "We're learning as we go. We're getting better and that's the good thing. We're improving and hopefully by the end of the season we're hitting on all cylinders."
Kyler Whitcomb scored the game's final goal for the 3-1 final, beating Kobel, who made nine saves on the day.
"Nick Kobel played an outstanding game," Crawford said. "I thought he was fantastic today and played with great confidence. He made an outstanding save on a penalty kick in the first half to keep it 0-0."
The Marauders managed five shots on net.
"Our goal is to get better each and every day," Crawford said. "And sooner or later we're going to get that nudge we need to get us to a victory."
