Fredonia gets second sweep in as many days

MAYVILLE - Fredonia (3-1, 2-1) ran wild in a 5-0 sweep of Chautauqua Lake (1-2, 1-1), Wednesday in a non-league girls' tennis tilt.

Baylee Tarnowski won first singles via forfeit and Georgianna Gens downed Dori Ruff, 6-2, 6-1, in second singles.

Fredonia's Lauren Millson and Chautauqua Lake's Jenelle Senske were involved in an epic match in third singles. Millson took the first set 7-5 and Senske evened the series by taking the second set 7-5. The third set was a test of stamina with Millson coming out on top, 11-9 in a super tiebreaker.

The first doubles team of Dana Wrojratana and Marina Kessler had no problems with Charity Ludwig and Megan Stahlsmith, 6-3, 6-2, and the second team of Cheyanne Gifford and Sarah Zinni defeated Emilie Christie and Emily Paulus, 6-3, 6-0.
