SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Board of Education is officially back at full capacity. At Wednesday's board meeting new board member Greg Cole was officially sworn into office.
Cole will serve out the term vacated by Louis Dispenza, which will be up for election in May.
"I just want to thank Mr. Cole for volunteering his time and energy to us for now and the rest of the school year. It's certainly a huge undertaking in these times and we appreciate it," Superintendent Daniel Ljiljanich said.

Wednesday was the first Silver Creek Board of Education meeting for new school board member Greg Cole. The board made several appointments at the meeting.
After Cole agreed to abide by the constitution and the rules of the board and he was welcomed, the meeting got under way.
He seconded a resolution for the Fall Community Education program and also made the motion for contracting with Personal Touch Food Service Inc. of Buffalo for food services for the district.
The board also appointed elementary teacher Craig Lamoreaux. Ljiljanich said the pool of applicants was very talented.
"We are very, very excited to have him here. We had just an incredibly talented pool of applicants for this job ... It was really amazing the number of people who were just so competent in their area of study in elementary teaching. (Lamoreaux) has been teaching for about 12 years ... and he has been most recently at Lake Shore but because of budget cuts there he lost the position and I think we are very fortunate to have him," he said.
Elizabeth Birner was also appointed as a teaching assistant with tenure and Diane Graf was appointed as a licensed practical nurse. Both have previously worked for the district, Birner for three years and Graf on and off for seven years.
The Varsity Soccer Coach was also changed from Timothy Kronenwetter to Eric Johengen and Samantha Gambino was appointed as jayvee volleyball coach.
"I would just like to thank Mr. Johengen for stepping in and I hope they have a successful season," Board President Martha Howard added.
Other appointments included Roseann Falcone, Paul Hilliker and Martha Waterman as substitutes, Tami Pawlowski as a long term substitute, Martha Boutet as a tutor, Paula Michalak as Elementary AV Coordinator, Anthony Montoro as Business Department Chair and Jamie Francisco as High School Year Book Financial Advisor.
Ljiljanich also reported a great start to the school year with many teachers welcoming students back and helping them in the halls.
He said the next exciting event is the Grape Stomp at the opening ceremony of the Festival of Grapes today at 6 p.m. at the village gazebo. Ljiljanich will compete in one heat of the Grape Stomp against Elementary School Principal Scott Rudnicki and Middle School Principal Paula Troutman. The three promised the competition will be fierce and encouraged all to show up.
The next board of education meeting will be held Sept. 26.
