On Saturday, Sept. 22, the Jamestown Unitarian Church on Prendergast Avenue will host the first Jazzfest Jamestown from 6 to 11 p.m.
The jazz festival will feature four professional jazz groups from Chautauqua County including Jazz Revival (Toby Hanks, bass; Steve Swanson; keyboards; Ray Domanski, drums; John Cross, horns) at 7 p.m., Bluzeinn (featuring Jon Wilder, trumpet; Marla Harris, vocals; Carl Lydell, guitar) at 8 p.m., Dave Golando and Friends (Harry Jacobson, bass; Alec Dube, drums; Phil Tappen, piano; Dave Golando, saxophones) at 9 p.m. and The Babalu Band (featuring Mark Alpaugh, keyboards; Jim Karapontso, guitar; Jim Foti, drums; John Cross, horns) at 10 p.m..
The Infinity Big Band will kick off the festival at 6 p.m. with featured trumpet soloists, Matthew Lefford, Emily Marsh and Sarah Ozga. Mateo Mendez and Tyler Roesler will be featured soloists on saxophones.

Jazzfest Jamestown is a free family event presented to the community to showcase the outstanding jazz musicians in the area. Popular jazz standard songs from all eras and styles will be performed including blues, swing, be-bop and funk. Area saxophonist John Cross will host and narrate the event. Other area jazz musicians will be invited to "sit in" at 10 p.m. with The Babalu Band which has performed for the Chautauqua Lake Idol Competitions for the past nine years.
