Open houses set for schools

The Dunkirk City School District will be holding a Community Open House for two days in the coming week.

On Wednesday, the middle and high schools will be open to the public from 6 to 7 p.m.

On Thursday, the community is welcome to tour elementary school buildings 3, 4, 5 and 4 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The open house events are being held to showcase the upgrades and improvements to each of the facilities as part of the Dunkirk schools renovation projects.

Sheridan Town Board to meet at firehall Thursday evening

The Sheridan Town Board has announced that public hearing scheduled for 7:15 p.m. and the regular meeting board meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday will be held at the Sheridan Firehall instead of at the Town Hall.

Brocton and Westfield Boards of Education

to meet on Thursday in BCS?auditorium

The Brocton Central School Board of Education will hold a special joint Board of Education meeting with the Westfield Academy and Central School Board of Education Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. in the Brocton Central School auditorium.

The regular monthly Brocton Central School Board of Education meeting will follow this special meeting.

The purpose of this special meeting is to hear the plan being set forth by the consultant group hired to begin the consolidation study along with a discussion on an agreed timeline for the study.

Landlord group to meet on Thursday evening at Dunkirk Senior Center

The Northern Chautau-qua Landlord Association is sponsoring a program focusing on the rising national infestation of bedbugs.

Kenneth Drummond from Comfort Pest Control will be the speaker.

Join the discussion on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Dunkirk Senior Citizen Center, 45 Franklin Ave..

Clifford coming to Brocton Central School Open House Tuesday

Clifford has the Scholastic Book Fair all set up at Brocton Central School.

He will be at the Open House on Tuesday to see all the smiling faces. Clifford has brought some of his favorite books for families to purchase.

The book fair will run daily from Sept. 1720 in the elementary library.
