The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will screen the family comedy "Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" on Friday at 7 p.m. Sponsored by the Lily Dale Assembly as part of Family Night at the Movies, admission to the film is free.
Family Night at the Movies often features films based on or that inspire books for children. The series was originally developed as a way for adults to share the excitement of reading and great family entertainment with the children in their lives. The Book Nook has donated several books, which will be given away in a drawing before the film.
Chipmunks ahoy! It's a tidal wave of toe-tapping music and unfurgettable fun for the whole family as Alvin and the Chipmunks return in their greatest adventure yet! While on vacation aboard a luxury cruise liner, Alvin, Simon, Theodore and the Chipettes can't help rocking the boat with their unique brand of 'munk mischief. But things get really squeaky when the gang winds up stranded on a remote island and discover their new tropical playground is not as deserted as it seems.

"Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" features Jason Lee in the live action role as Dave, the Chipmunks' handler/caretaker, and the voices of Justin Long, Amy Poehler, Christina Applegate, Matthew Gray Gubler and Anna Faris. Rated G, the film runs 87 minutes.
Free admission tickets are available only at the door on the night of the show. Seating is limited to 400; and patrons are reminded that there is no food or drink allowed in the Opera House and that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
