SILVER CREEK - Jade Lewis' goal in the 25th minute of the first half was all the scoring Wednesday, as the Silver Creek Black Knights (1-5, 1-5) picked up their first CCAA Division 2 win of the season, 1-0, over the Cattaraugus-Little Valley (2-5, 1-5) Lady Timberwolves.
"It certainly was nice to get that first win," Silver Creek head coach Kevin Rice said. "We pretty much tried to survive the top part of our league. The girls have been a little down, so this was a good game to hopefully get our confidence back."
Jamie Hehir stopped three shots to pick up the shutout while counterpart Megan Jones made eight saves for the Lady Timberwolves.
The Black Knights will be back in action on Friday, when they travel to take on CCAA Division 2 foe Cassadaga Valley.
