Twenty years ago - 1992

Brooks Memorial Hospital recently established a primary care center in the former Pearce Auto Building at 51 East Third St., Dunkirk. The center has been established to help meet the primary health care needs of the medically underserved adult population in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area. In addition, the mission of the primary care center is to service the migrant population and other residents of the nearby community, especially those who do not have a family physician.

Thirty years ago - 1982

A "Just Between Us ..." item notes that Robert and Tara Halicki Glasier of Holmes Place, Fredonia have returned from California and the West Coast premiere of her brother, H.B. "Toby" Halicki's movie, "The Junkman."

Forty years ago - 1972

Former World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali will speak this weekend during a special visit to the Fredonia State college campus. The college's Black Student Union is sponsoring his visit to the local college.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Among the area food service industry operators attending the "Aircade" program of the National Restaurant Association held in Buffalo this week were Kenneth Thompson of Dunkirk, W.W. Cease of Fredonia and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Roof of Silver Creek.
