Mr. and Mrs. Ray Szydlo of Fredonia and Mr. and Mrs. David Rowden of DeWitt, Mich., announce the engagement of their children, Elizabeth Jean Szydlo and Michael Robert Rowden, both of Washington, D.C.
The bride-to-be received her bachelor of science degree in clinical science from Ithaca College in 2007 and her master's degree in special education from George Mason University in 2009. She is a first-grade teacher at Arlington Public Schools and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Education Leadership at George Mason University.
Her fiance received his bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 2008. He is a legislative associate at the American Council of Life Insurers in Washington, D.C.
