Jamestown Police looking for suspect
JAMESTOWN - James-town Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred Friday night off Victoria Avenue in the city.
A female victim reported walking through the area on Victoria Avenue behind Big Lots Store when she was physically attacked at 7:45 p.m. Investigators are still working the case and are canvassing the area looking for witnesses to the incident. Investigators are also reviewing surveillance video from area businesses and are looking for any information that may be available from anyone who may have seen anything in this area around 7:45 p.m.
Investigators are looking to identify a male subject who was seen in the area carrying a white laundry style bag. This subject was reportedly observed in the area at the time of the incident. At this time, no other information is available regarding the male subject.
Anyone with information on the unknown male subject who was seen carrying a white bag or who may have information on this crime is asked to contact the James-town Police Department at 483-7537. New York State Police at Collins
IRVING - Janine Dumond, 60 of Conewango was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sept. 16. Dumond was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by troopers on Routes 5 and 20. Dumond was subsequently found to be in possession of marijuana and a pipe containing the drug. He was released on an appearance ticket.
COLLINS - Susan Snow, 38, of Irving was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident on Sept. 18 after an investigation. Snow had reported the theft of a truck jointly owned by her and her ex-husband on Sept. 8 claiming the truck was repossessed then stolen. Investigation revealed Snow's ex-husband had possession of the truck and it was never stolen. Snow was released on an appearance ticket.
Chautauqua County Sheriffs Office
On Saturday at 3:15 a.m., a sheriff's deputy charged Robert A. Kwaizer, 49, of Silver Creek with driving while intoxicated.
Kwaizer was stopped on Route 5 in the Town of Dunkirk for an insufficient tail light on his motorcycle.
He was processed and issued appearance tickets to answer the charges in the Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.
The deputy was assisted by a Dunkirk Police Depart-ment patrolman.
RIPLEY - On Saturday evening at about 11:30 p.m., James D. Howser Jr. of North East, Pa. was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed in zone, unlicensed operation, uninspected motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, and operating without insurance.
Reportedly, deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on W. Main Street. They stopped the vehicle and after investigation, it was alleged the Howser was intoxicated.
He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ripley Court.
