Twenty years ago - 1992

Several participants and local residents were moved to tears as the first "Share-A-Dream" caravan moved through Northern Chautauqua County. To raise the spirits of local children with terminally ill conditions, more than 30 truckers from the area participated in the event which raised more than $800 to be donated to St. Jude's Hospital. The caravan provided 14 children and their families with a ride through the county along Routes 5 and 20 from Dunkirk to Westfield and back to Tops Market in Dunkirk.

Thirty years ago - 1982

Joseph C. Falcone, selected as the "Grape Grower of the Year," was honored during the recent Festival of Grapes in Silver Creek. Along with his father, John Falcone and uncle, Joseph Anthony Falcone, he assists in the operation of the largest non-dairy farm in Chautauqua County. The original 60-acre farm has grown to 2,665 acres spanning three counties, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany.

Forty years ago - 1972

The new Holy Trinity Church in Dunkirk was dedicated Sept. 24 by Bishop Pius Benincasa. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Valerio Bernardo is pastor.

Fifty years ago 1962

William and Bonnie Grisanti, children of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Grisanti, 20 Prospect Road, Forestville, own the "Pets of the Week" - a beagle named "Peppy" and a cocker spaniel named "Misery."
