Isaac E. “Gene” Steele

DEWITTVILLE - Isaac E. "Gene" Steele, 83, of Old Rt. 17, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2012) at his residence.

He was born February 1, 1929, in Huntingdon, P.A., the son of Isaac and Sadie Bradley Steele.

Before retiring in 1994, Mr. Steele had been employed for many years at Hopes Architectural Products.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He had enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and had a great sense of humor.

Gene is survived by his children: Brenda Steele of Westfield, Pam (Jim) Williams of Millville, PA, Sandy (John) Holliday of Randolph and Gene (Lynn) Steele of Frewsburg; seven grandchildren: Sarah, Rebecca, Erin, and Zachary Williams, Andrew, Matthew, and Bethany Steele, four step-children, several step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Jessie Steele, a son Brian Steele, two brothers, David and Robert Steele, two sisters, Mildred Rhodes and Florence Jackson, and second wife, Freida Steele.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Ronald Lemon, pastor of the Koinonia Christian Fellowship, Frewsburg, will officiate. Burial will be in South Napoli Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
