Jamestown Police investigating fatal stabbing in conjunction with home invasion

JAMESTOWN - A home burglary today in Jamestown has left one dead and one injured.

Investigators are working on the incident that happened at 112 Barker St. in the city. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the resident of the home returned home around 11:30 a.m. to find two subjects burglarizing his home. The resident engaged in an altercation with the subjects, resulting in both subjects being stabbed by the resident.

One of the subjects died a short distance from the home and the second subject was able to flee the residence and make it to the hospital. The second subject is currently being treated at WCA Hospital for a stab wound.

The Chautauqua County Forensic Identification Team is on location assisting with the investigation. The name of the deceased subject is not being released at this time. More information will be released when it becomes available.
