Falconer (5-0, 6-1) narrowly escaped Fredonia (1-4, 2-7) to stay undefeated in CCAA Division 1 girls volleyball, Wednesday at Fredonia Central School.

Falconer won with game scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-23.
"(Falconer's) a great volleyball team," Fredonia coach Chris Anderson said. "My kids are young and we gave them a heck of a game."
Fredonia was paced by Maddy Crandall's eight assists, six digs and two kills. Makenzie Tarnowski recorded three aces, two kills and a block while Margaret Wright added two kills and 12 digs.
"Every game we play I see more potential," Anderson continued. "I'm really excited for where we could end up down the road."
The Lady Golden Falcons got 40 assists from Kalynn Swanson while Makalia Haveron added 40 digs.
Alyssa Brooks and Kalynn Swanson each recorded nine kills and a block.
Both teams return to action Friday as Fredonia makes the short trip to play Dunkirk and Falconer hosts Olean.

JAMESTOWN - While the Dunkirk Lady Marauders (0-5, 3-5) who are winless in league play this year - fell to the 3-1 Southwestern Lady Trojans on Wednesday in CCAA Division 1 girls' high school volleyball in straight sets, the victory for the south county school was anything but easy.
Southwestern won 25-13, 29-27, 25-22.
"Their technique is improving," seventh-year Southwestern coach Amanda Krakowiak said. "I give a lot of credit to the coach. She is teaching them the basics. The little things are adding up and coming together for them. They are improving which is very nice to see."
Alexis Clark led Dunkirk with three aces, seven kills, one block and one dig. Khee Nance added six aces, two assists, eight kills, two blocks and two digs while Lacey Clark finished with an ace, 14 assists, four kills and a block for the Lady Marauders. Sarah Hanlon also added three aces, three assists, five kills, one block and one dig in a losing effort.
The Lady Trojans were led by Maddy Alexander's 10 aces, four assists and two kills. Kara Schutte charted seven aces, seven assists, two kills and nine digs.
ALLEGANY - Abby Watson had 13 points, 13 kills, three aces and two kills, two blocks and Brandie Fuller 15 points, nine assists, five kills, four aces and nine digs when Allegany-Limestone (4-3, 5-6) took Cassadaga Valley (2-5), 25-9, 25-6, 25-16.
Kaitlyn Lacki produced four aces for Cassadaga Valley, which lost the jayvee match as well by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-13.
LAKE SHORE - Ryan Joslyn's 11 kills and six aces carried the Lake Shore Eagles (7-2, 5-0) to a 25-17, 25-17, 25-7 victory over Starpoint (3-3) on Wednesday in ECIC Division 2 boys' high school volleyball.
Dane Cala added seven kills and three aces, and Billy Pinter charted 25 assists to go along with nine aces.
