Sophie B. Kapuscinski

Sophie B. Kapuscinski, of Dunkirk, formerly of Fredonia, died Wednesday September 26, 2012, at the Chautauqua County Home. She was born in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Frank and Maryanna (Kupiec) Kapuscinski. She attended Dunkirk High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and

a Master of Science Degree from Fredonia State University and attended further classes at Jamestown Community College, Cornell University and Fredonia State University. Sophie was a teacher at Dunkirk High School where she taught English and also at Brocton Central School, and prior to her retirement she was employed by Chautauqua County Department of Social Services. Surviving are her children Marilyn (Raymond) Maria of Fairfax Station,

VA., Christine Trainor of West Springfield, Mass., Anthony (Janet) Kapuscinski Jr. of Fredonia, a brother Edward (Pat) Krystofik of Dunkirk, six grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband Anthony C. Kapuscinski Sr., who died December 16, 2004, brothers Frank, Fred, Steve Krzystofik, sister Virginia Millitello. Private funeral services

were held; the Rev. Walter Werbicki officiated. Pall bearers were Todd Casilli, T.C. Kapacinski III, Steve Purol, Peter Begier, Craig Mekus. Entombment was in the Resurrection Mausoleum in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
