Salute: Thousands cheer champ

October 3, 2012
The OBSERVER

There was reason for celebration despite Sunday's Buffalo Bills' meltdown against the New England Patriots in Orchard Park.

Fredonia native and world champion Jennifer Suhr made an appearance at the Ralph Wilson fieldhouse as well as the stadium to the delight of many fans. In a number of photos sent by the Associated Press, Suhr was the toast of all - including those wearing Patriots colors.

At the stadium, more than 70,000 fans cheered her accomplishment of winning the gold in London.

That's a moment worth remembering - even if you were not pleased with the game's outcome.
