Westfield Police
Around 1:21 a.m., police stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic infraction, During the stop, a passenger, Josh P. Northrup, 31, of Clinton Street, Westfield, was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in Westfield court.
At 4:10 a.m., police investigated an alleged suspicious vehicle parked at a local establishment on East Main Street. During the investigation, it is alleged the officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A 16-year-old male and an 18-year old male, both of Erie, Pa., were each in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Both were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and are to appear in Westfield court.
Around 6:25 p.m., a Westfield police officer was on patrol on North Portage Street in the Village of Westfield. The officer allegedly observed a subject operating a motor vehicle in very close proximity to the vehicle directly in front of it. When the officer was behind said vehicle, the officer did observe the subject, later identified as Alexey Gaev, 37, of Erie, Pa., make an unsafe pass on the right of the vehicle he was tailgating.
After the vehicle was stopped and upon investigation, it was found that Gaev's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the state of New York was allegedly suspended. Gaev was issued traffic citations and will appear in Westfield Court.
At 1:25 a.m., police stopped a vehicle operated by Jeni Ion, 19, of Erie, Pa., for an alleged traffic infraction. During the stop, it is alleged an odor of marijuana could be smelled by officers and it was found Ion and her passengers, Brittany Malina and Larissa Will, both 19 and also of Erie, Pa., were all in possession of small quantity of marijuana. All are to appear in Westfield Court.
At 10 p.m., patrolmen were dispatched to be on the lookout for a vehicle driving all over the roadway. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, which was allegedly crossing center lines and fog line of roadway. Said vehicle was operated by Travis L. Lanneaux, 25, of Westfield.
Upon further investigation, it is alleged Lanneaux's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the state was suspended. He was issued traffic citations and is to appear in the Westfield Court.
Gowanda Police
Tiffany M. Sciarrino, 26, of Silver Creek was charged with failure to wear a seat belt and aggravated unlicensed operation on Sept. 3. At 4:30 p.m. police stopped Sciarrino for a traffic infraction. A DMV computer check revealed Sciarrino's license was suspended after failure to appear in the Town of Evans Court. She was released on an appearance ticket for Collins Court.
Eric K. Pierce, 29, of Silver Creek was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Sept. 6. Pierce was previously arrested in September 2011 for disorderly conduct and criminal nuisance. When Pierce failed to appear, the Town of Collins Court issued an arrest warrant. Pierce was arraigned in the Town of Collins Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $600 bail.
Richard A. Banach II, 32, of Collins was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and a stop sign violation on Sept. 9. At 12:02 a.m. police stopped Banach on Buffalo Street for a stop sign violation. A DMV computer check revealed Banach's licensed had been suspended for failure to pay fines and child support. Banach was released on an appearance ticket for Collins Court.
Robert E. Muenzer Jr., 27, of Bagdad Road was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Sept. 13. The Hamburg Police Depart-ment notified Gowanda Police of an arrest warrant for Muenzer. He was arrested without incident and turned over to the Hamburg Police Department.
Lawrence Nadeau, 35, of Commercial Street was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sept. 14. Patrol interviewed Nadeau as part of another investigation. During this interview, Nadeau was found to be in possession of a variety of prescription pills that were not his. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.
Darren Warrior, 27, of Aldrich Street was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief on Sept. 16. At 1:38 a.m. police responded to a disturbance in a parking lot on Foundry Street. Warrior, who appeared intoxicated, was yelling profanities and refused several requests with patrol regarding his behavior. Warrior led police on a short foot chase before being arrested and continued belligerent behavior while at the police station. Warrior was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Collins Court.
Heather E. Gearman, 27, of Perry Street was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Sept. 21. Springville Police Depart-ment notified Gowanda Police of an arrest warrant for Gearman. She was arrested on this warrant and turned over to the Springville Police Department.
Edwin Ruiz, 47, of Buffalo was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Sept. 21. Gowanda Police had previously arrested Ruiz for harassment in June and when he failed to appear, the Town of Persia Court issued a warrant. Springville Police arrested Ruiz and he was turned over to Gowanda Police. Ruiz was arraigned in the Town of Dayton Court and was released on $200 bail. He is due back in the Town of Persia Court to answer the original charges.
Alissa C. Jones, 40, of Union Street was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Sept. 21. At 4:37 p.m. police stopped Jones for a possible traffic infraction on Union Street. A DMV computer check revealed that Jones' license was revoked in August for a driving while ability impaired by alcohol conviction. Jones was released on an appearance ticket for Collins Court.
Nathan E. Miskell, 18, of Aldrich Street was charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief on Sept. 22. At 7:58 a.m. police responded to a disturbance at 31 Commercial St. and found Miskell had damaged property at this residence. Miskell also allegedly used a shelf and other objects to assault another male at the residence causing injury. Miskell was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court and was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Laurie A. Hathaway, 18, of Salamanca was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on Sept. 27. Police had previously arrested Hathaway in June for an exhaust violation and unlicensed operation. When Hathaway failure to appear, the Town of Persia Court issued a warrant for her arrest. Salamanca Police arrested Hathaway on this warrant and was turned over to Gowanda Police. Hatha-way was arraigned in Town of Persia Court and released on her own recognizance to return to court at a later date.
Christopher Meyers, 31, of College Street was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation on Sept. 27. At 12 p.m. Meyers was stopped for a suspected traffic violation on East Main Street. During this stop, a DMV computer check revealed Meyers licensed had been suspended six times for failure to appear. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Joshua S. Waterman, 27, of Collins was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Sept. 28. At 10:01 p.m. police saw Waterman driving without headlights on. He was found to be in possession of marijuana and a prescription drug. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Collins Court.
