JAMESTOWN - The Board of Directors of Community Music Project, Inc., announces the appointment of Cindy Lind Hanson as the director of the Jamestown Choral Society.
Hanson replaces Brian A. Bogey, who retired from the position at the end of this past season. Hanson is the minister of music at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, a position she has held for the past 15 years.
Rehearsals for the Jamestown Choral Society will begin Monday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, continuing on all subsequent Monday evenings. The first concert, "A Celebration of Life - A Memorial Tribute" will be Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at Christ First United Methodist Church in Jamestown. The Jamestown Choral Society is a non-auditioned community chorus. They perform one to two concerts a year.

The Chautauqua Chamber Singers, under the direction of Rebecca Ryan, will also begin rehearsals on Monday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Social Services Chapel, Falconer Street, Jamestown. The group will also be preparing for the concert "A Celebration of Life - A Memorial Tribute."
The Chautauqua Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble performing three to four concerts per year including their traditional "12th Night" concert the first week of January.
