Board members and volunteers of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels cut the ribbon on their new location on Thursday.
The agency is very dependent on volunteers who deliver meals one day a week. There are eight volunteer routes in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area. Volunteer routes normally consist of 10 to 14 deliveries. Along with the delivery of meals, volunteers also check on a client's well being and activate emergency procedures if necessary.
If you are a volunteer or would like more information about the Meals on Wheels program, please stop by the agency's new location at 200 Lake Shore Drive West or call 366-8822.
Meals on Wheels is a United Way agency supported by the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging, long-term health care program, the emergency food and shelter program and participant donations.
