Twenty years ago - 1992

A Bob Evans restaurant may soon be joining Kmart as the newest residents of the town of Dunkirk. A Bob Evans representative confirmed this morning that the company is "in contract" for one of the Kmart outlots. He added, "We are very excited about coming to the Dunkirk-Fredonia area." A purchase agreement has already been signed by both parties, contingent on obtaining the permits.

Thirty years ago - 1982

A brass tray, inlaid with silver and copper wires and fused by mallet is estimated to be over 300 years old and worth $5,000. Donated to the College Foundation by Mrs. Audrey Bedford of Fredonia, the tray weighs about 13 pounds.

Forty years ago - 1972

Geiger Enterprises of Grand Island has purchased the property at 101-103 Central Ave., Dunkirk from Murray and Barbara Hartley and will reportedly construct a self-service gasoline station on the site.

Fifty years ago - 1962

A new automobile dealer has taken over the former Fredonia Truck and Farm Equipment Building, Route 20 at McAllister Road, and plans to open a Rambler automobile agency. Murray Hartley is president of the new firm.
