The Dunkirk Police Department has concluded a four-month investigation into the sale of crack cocaine with the arrest of two city men. That investigation led to the seizure of quantities of crack cocaine, marijuana and cash this afternoon.
Police detectives, working in conjunction with Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force agents, were able to make undercover purchases of crack cocaine from Julian E. Duman Jr., 17, of Main Street. The purchases resulted in a warrant being issued by Dunkirk City Court Judge Walter Drag for Duman's arrest. Duman was arrested by police on Central Avenue was found to be in possession of significant amounts of crack cocaine packaged for street sale, and cash.

A companion of Duman, Dyquan M. Smith, 17, of Deer Street was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Smith was also found to be in possession of significant quantities of marijuana packaged for street sale, as well as cash. In both cases, the drugs and money were seized and secured as evidence.
Duman was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both class B felonies. He was also charged with felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was held without bail pending arraignment.
