Charles F. Drummond

Charles F. Drummond, a former employee of the EVENING OBSERVER, died October 8, 2012 in Lewisville, Texas.

Born on March 6, 1929 in Cassadaga, NY, Mr. Drummond was the son of the late Charles O. and Esther Drummond. He lived in Fredonia 60 years before moving to Texas in 1993. A 1947 graduate of Fredonia High School, Mr. Drummond was employed by the EVENING OBSERVER for 45 years, the last 12 as Graphics Manager. He was a member of the Fredonia Fire Department for 27 years. A Korean Conflict veteran he was a life member of both American Legion Post 62 in Dunkirk, NY and VFW Post 9168 in Lewisville, TX.

He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Gail L. Drummond of Lewisville, TX; two daughters, Keely Gorrill of Lantana, TX and Julie Blackstad, of Flower Mound, TX; and two grand-daughters, Leilani and Callie Blackstad of Flower Mound, TX.

Mr. Drummond was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Laucks of Cassadaga, NY and a brother, Robert Drummond of Fredonia, NY.

A private memorial service was held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home prior to interment in Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 9168 at 997 E State Highway 121, Lewisville, TX 75057, or Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62, PO Box 62, Dunkirk NY 14048, or Accolade Hospice at 2800 Shoreline Dr., Denton, TX 76210.
