City budget proposal ups taxes, water rate

October 12, 2012
The OBSERVER

Dunkirk residents will be facing higher property taxes and water rates in 2013, according to Mayor A.J. Dolce.

In his first budget proposal, the mayor is planning to increase taxes 45 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation and increase the water rate by $11.25 per quarter. The mayor says the tax increase is due to city contracts and less money in the payment in lieu of taxes agreement with NRG.
